About the Residency
The Loc Artistry by AV is a holistic loc salon rooted in the Hudson Valley, NY — now expanding its presence to the Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya area.
Founder Amoy brings her signature precision and holistic approach to PDC on a recurring basis, offering new installs, maintenance, and styling for all stages of your loc journey. Whether you're a local resident, long-term expat, or returning visitor, Loc Artistry Global is being built with this community in mind.
Every service is performed using her curated line of all-natural products, centered on the health of your hair, scalp, and total well-being.
Residency location details are provided to confirmed clients one month prior to each appointment window. Slots are limited and by consultation only.
Meet Amoy
Amoy is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience across critical care, forensics, and healthcare leadership. In 2021, she founded Loc Artistry by AV with a vision to establish a holistic loc salon rooted in a total person approach — where the health of your hair, scalp, and overall well-being are at the center of every service.
With over 5 years dedicated to the art of loc care and her own curated line of all-natural products, Amoy brings both clinical expertise and genuine artistry to every client. When she's not in the salon, you'll find her out on the trails, lost in a good book, or putting pen to paper.
The PDC Residency is an extension of that vision — bringing an intentional, elevated loc experience to Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya, built to grow with this community over time.

Schedule a complimentary virtual consultation to discuss your hair goals and service needs.
Complete Your Intake Form
After booking your consultation, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to your client intake form. Please complete the form and submit 2–3 photos of your hair prior to your appointment — either through the form or via WhatsApp at 845-600-9444.
Loc Service Appointment
After your consultation, your loctician books your loc service appointment and sends a 50% deposit invoice. Your deposit goes toward the cost of your service.
See You in PDC!
Your spot is confirmed upon receipt of your deposit. The residency location will be provided to confirmed clients one month prior to the first appointment date. We can't wait to see you in Playa del Carmen!

Confirmed clients will be added to the Loc Artistry by AV PDC Residency WhatsApp group where updates will be shared. You can also check the website for the latest information on upcoming residencies.
If you'd like to continue your services with us at future residencies, you will be placed on a priority list and contacted directly when new dates are announced.
Once your appointment is booked, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details.
The residency location will be shared with all confirmed clients one month prior to the first appointment date of each residency window.
Following your consultation, you will receive an invoice to pay your 50% deposit by credit or debit card via Square. Your appointment is confirmed upon receipt of payment. The remaining balance is due at the time of your appointment and can be paid by cash (USD or MXN), Zelle, or Venmo.
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before your appointment to receive a deposit refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior will result in forfeiture of your deposit. All cancellation and reschedule requests must be submitted via WhatsApp to 845-600-9444.
A 15-minute grace period is offered for all appointments. Clients arriving 16–30 minutes late may have their service modified depending on availability. Clients arriving more than 30 minutes late will be considered a no-show and their deposit will be forfeited.
